Movie mines

Slightly further along the road from Apache Junction in Pheonix towards the Superstition Mountains a far more modern collection of items has been gathered into a museum – movie sets.

Arizona was the home to many a film set and Apacheland was created as a location to film town scenes.  The most famous film shot at Apacheland was ‘Gunfight at the OK Corral’.  Having visited the actual OK Corral a few years ago it was rather amusing to visit the film set many miles further north, albeit at least still in Arizona.
