Fountains

Although I have been to and through Paris on a number of occasions, this April was the first time I took the time to visit Versailles. A palace famous for its history of intrigues, its architecture and its gardens. And dotted throughout the gardens are many fountains.

Some are grand and impressive (clearly not really impressing the local birds)

Some act as attractions at either end of a hidden garden

Some are the focal point for distant view

Others small and tucked away.

Some have what appeared to be continuously running water

Others only play at particular times

My favourite show was this one, mainly because of the onshore accompaniment
