Since my visit to the Piazza di Spagna, the rules around sitting on the steps have changed and visitors are no longer allowed to do what some visitors were doing the day I was there:
Apparently sitting on the steps takes up too much room and tourists are being asked to stand up again by the local police. Considering this was a good weather day in July I’m not sure how any of the people sitting on the steps were causing a problem.
The steps are considered the most famous part of the square, yet I like the church at the top just as much. The view down isn’t quite as impressive as the view up the steps.
Getting to the fountain at the bottom without lots of people in the way was a little more difficult than taking pictures of and on the steps, with some patience it is achievable.
