Luxembourg’s Ville Haute

The Archducal Palace is not the only beautiful building in the Ville Haute part of the City of Luxembourg.  Buildings in this ‘higher’ northern part of the city mostly pre-date the mid 20th century.

You will see that the 21st century has moved into the ground floor of many of these old buildings providing banking, mobile phone, clothing retail and other important services to the residents of the Grand Duchy.

I can only think that this was once a waste drain from the its building and hope that 21st century plumbing makes it obsolete!
