The town of Plzen

Walking from the brewery to the synagogue I passed through the old town of Plzen. Having booked myself into a hotel near the brewery (no real surprise, right?) I returned past the colourful houses around the town square and the roads leading to it.

The central square reflects a mixture of the old and the modern. The cathedral of St Bartholomew is in one corner, modern gilded fountains in the other three.

The cathedral has beautifully decorated ceilings and the splendour of the tall stained glass windows shone on this sunny day.
