The weather on the other side of the channel wasn’t that great once we emerged from the Channel Tunnel. Despite being able to buy a ticket from London to Amsterdam, I needed to change trains in Brussels having travelled through France. The Midi-Station had brightly coloured waste bins and an interesting unisex toilet system. You buy a token which lets you into a cubicle from which you pass into the hand-washing area and back out again. The individual cubicles can be used by people of either gender, so there is no longer queue for the ladies!
The Thalys train I changed to was rather red velvety.
It took me on to Amsterdam across canals and past this exit sign at Antwerp. The weather meant that way too many pictures I took from the train ended up as selfies rather than of the flatlands of northern Europe, I’ll only show you the one.
