Two Gardens of the World in this Berlin park rely heavily on non-plant structures. Despite this, they are clearly gardens, where peace and rest join nature.
The Oriental Islamic garden is entered through a building, which provides a fitting introduction to the seclusion of the walled garden, not visible from the park.

Once inside the 4m high walls, fountains provide water and coolness in times of heat. The four plant beds are supplemented with many plants in pots. Benches along all sides of the courtyard invite visitors to rest in either sun or shade.

Although not taken with this in mind, I like these two pictures next to each other of the same wooden door, once from the inside, with the central pavilion and once from the outside.

The structure which makes the Balinese garden possible is a giant greenhouse. In Bali, plants are grown for food or medicinal purposes. Gardens as places for leisure are unusual. As such, the Balinese garden is a collection of tropical plants and traditional buildings including a home pavilion and family temple.
