The light from outside

The amazing artwork in the stained glass windows of Salisbury Cathedral is only properly visible from inside, when the light from outside shines through.

Some of the windows have panels with coats of arms, presumably local families who supported the cathedral either ‘just’ as members of the congregation or as financial benefactors.

A beautiful joint design by the architects and the stained glass architects frames one of the side altars, from memory on the north side.

As in previous posts about my visits to Wiltshire, the pictures here were all taken by my friend Randy.
